Resilience occurs over time.

In order to identify the different issues surrounding trauma, recovery, and resilience, the Storm metaphor is used to identify how traumatic situations may occur in our lives: sometimes expected, sometimes a complete surprise. However the “storm” develops in your life, it is typically scary, dark, and overwhelming. These lessons have been developed to help you understand the different aspects of “storms” in your life. These modules are meant to watch and discuss in the sequence presented below. They build on one another. Take your time. It is recommended to watch them on a weekly basis, in order to process all of the information. Do this with your precinct, team, or group. Repeat the lesson or repeat the series. We learn best by repetition. Each link will take you to the video lesson, a teacher’s guide for discussion, and supplemental reading/information, is available. This program is NOT a substitute for therapy. This program is designed to help you understand what may be happening to you and normalize the impact of a traumatic situation on your thoughts, feelings, or behaviors. If you are experiencing any life-threatening/suicidal thoughts
